King Tut’s mummy is considered to be the richest mummy in the world. Tut was the last king of Pharaoh Dynasty. His burial was a grand event. Many precious goods were buried in his tomb with him. The things included: precious collars, inlaid necklaces and bracelets, rings, amulets, a ceremonial apron, sandals, sheaths for his fingers and toes, and the now iconic inner coffin and mask. All of these things were of pure gold.

Apart from the above mentioned goods, other things of everyday use were also buried along. These things were: board games, a bronze razor, linen undergarments, cases of food and wine.

These things were buried with Tut because at that time it was believed there was life after death. According to this belief Tut’s soul could return anytime; these things were kept in his tomb so that when his soul would return, he could use these things. There was another belief. People at that time thought they could take their treasures along to the world beyond death. That’s why the things of pure gold had been kept in his tomb.
