The continuous reaction of the oxygen with certain water in the presence of water is Corrosion

Some metals like iron, copper and lead corrodes when they are subject to oxygen in presence of water.

Corrosion of iron is known as rusting.

Remember the conditions for corrosion:-

  • Water
  • Oxygen

If these 2 conditions are fulfilled then only corrosion can take place.

Hope it helps you.
