Raja Ram Mohan Roy

1. He published two newspapers Samvad Kaumudi and Prgya Chaand to spread his ideas to the common people.

2. He helped in the establishment of the Vedanta College and the Hindu College in Calcutta.

 

Swami Dayananda Saraswati

1. He gave the slogan 'Return to Vedas'. He tried to revive true Hindu philosophy.

2. He advocated women's right to education and equal status in society. He supported the idea that women had the right to study the Vedas.

 

Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar

He refined and simplified the Bengali language and made it accessible to the common people in his book Barno-Porichay.

 

Jyotiba Phule

1. He made a lot of efforts in the field of women's education. He opened the first girls' school in the country in 1848.

2. He started a bigger and better girls' school in 1851 which became very popular. Everyone was allowed to study there, irrespective of their religion, caste or creed.
