SHREYA999: In ferrous sulphate iron is in +2 oxidation state. When ferrous sulphate is treated with suitable oxidising agent, get converted in to ferric sulphate.

In ferric sulphate iron is in +3 oxidation state. Thus increase in oxidation state is nothing but oxidation reaction.
