Given :

Given, two points (6,8) and (2,4) on a line segment.

 \\

To find :

We have to find the co-ordinate of mid-point of the line segment of the given points.

 \\

Solution :

Let the unknown co-ordinates of the midpoint of the line segment joining (6,8) and (2,4) be a and b.

\bigstar \: \: (a,b)= (\dfrac{x_1+x_2}{2}, \dfrac{y_1+y_2}{2} ) \: \: \bigstar

Here,

  • x_1 = 6

  • x_2=2

  • y_1=8

  • y_2=4

:\implies (a,b)=( \dfrac{6 + 2}{2} , \dfrac{8 + 4}{2} )

:\implies (a,b)=( \dfrac{8}{2} , \dfrac{12}{2} )

:\implies (a,b)=(4,6)

Therefore, the coordinate of mid-point joining the line segment of points (6,8) and (2,4) is (4,6).
