Answer:-

Given Points : A (4 , 3) & B(6 , - 1)

We know that,

Mid Point of a line segment joining the points (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) is :

[ (x1 + x2)/2 , (y1 + y2)/2 ]

Let the co - ordinates of the point be (x , y).

let,

  • x1 = 4

  • x2 = 6

  • y1 = 3

  • y2 = - 1

Hence,

(x , y) = [ (4 + 6)/2 , (3 + ( - 1))/2 ]

→ (x , y) = [ 10/2 , 3 - 1/2 ]

→ (x , y) = ( 5 , 2/2)

→ (x , y) = (5 , 1)

Therefore, the co - ordinates of the mid Point are (5 , 1).

Additional Information:-

  • Distance between two points with coordinates (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) = √(x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)².

  • Second formulae:

  • internally in the ratio m : n = [ (mx2 + nx1) / (m + n) , (my2 + ny1) / (m + n) ] where m + n ≠ 0.

  • externally = [ ( mx2 - nx1) / (m - n) , (my2 - ny1) / (m - n) ] where m ≠ n.
