GIVEN : The coordinates of point A are (1, 2) and the coordinates of point B are (–3, 4).

TO FIND : Midpoint of line AB.

SOLUTION :

Coordinate of Midpoint of AB

= [ { 1+(-3) }/ 2 , (2+4)/2 ]

= ( -2/2 , 6/2 )

= ( -1 , 3) .

Hence , the midpoint of the line AB is ( -1,3)
