The coordinates of the point A,B,C,are(6,3),(-3,5),(4,-2) respectively P(x,y) is any point in the plane ,show that ,ar(PBC)/ar(ABC) =x+y+-2/7

by Cross multiplication,

Area of triangle pbc=1/2 [(5x+6+4y)-(-3y+20-2x)]

THEN..... 1/2 (7x+7y-14)

After that solve... and 7/2 (x+y-2)

Area of triangle abc=7/2 (6+3-2)[replacing x by 6 and y =3.

Area =49/2

Area of pbc/area of abc=7/2 [x+y-2]/49/2=

x+y-2/7
