hey mate
u can directly use section formula
which is
(mx1+nx2/(m+n),my1+ny2/(m+n))
where x1,x2,y1,y2 are pts u have and m,n are the ratio
so to get x use equation
it will be =(1x-2+2x-5)/3= -4
and fr y=(1×-2+2×7)/3=4
so coordinate will be (-4,4)
i hope u understood!!

let (-2,-2) be x1 and y1 and (-5,7) be X2 and y2.
let 2:1 be m:n
using section formula,
X coordinate =mx1+nx2/ m+n
=2(-2)+1(-5)/2+1
= -4+(-5)/3
=-4-5/3
=-3

y coordinate = my1+ny2/m+n
= 2(-2)+1(7)/2+1
= -4+7/3
=-1

nandinibansal0: sorry gys
nandinibansal0: we had to do this using section formula
naveen7178: tats wat i did
nandinibansal0: but answer is different
naveen7178: mine is crrct
naveen7178: ur ans is wrong
nandinibansal0: ok then
naveen7178: then?
