Solution :-

We know that, the coordinates of mid points of line segment joining A(a, b) and B(c, d) are :-

  • x = (a + c)/2
  • y = (b + d)/2

comparing given points (6,0) and (0,-8) with A(a, b) and B(c, d) we get,

  • a = 6 , b = 0
  • c = 0, d = (-8)

now, let coordinates of the mid points are (x , y) .

then,

→ x = (6 + 0)/2 = 6/2 = 3

→ y = (0 - 8)/2 = (-8/2) = (-4)

therefore, the coordinates of the mid point are (b) 3, (-4) .
