if two triangle are similar then their side and area are in propotion

side of one triangle /side of other triangle= area of one  triangle /area of other triangle

so ,

3/4=x/48

3*48=x*4

3*48/4=x

3*12=x

36=x

area of smaller triangle is 36cm^2
