Step-by-step explanation:

let

cost of pencil be y rs and cost of eraser be x rs

acc.to condition

11y+11x= 99 ---------(1)

3y+5x= 33 -----------(2)

multiplying eq (1) by 3 & eq (2) by 11

33y + 33x =297 -----(1)

33y + 55x =363 ------(2)

subracting eq(1) from eq(2)

33y+33x =297

-33y+55x = 363

______________

-22x = -66

x = 3

now,

at x = 3

3y + 5x = 33

3y + 5*3 =33

3y + 15 =33

3y = 33-15

y= 18/3

y=6

cost of 5 pencils and 3 erasers =

5y+ 3x

= 5*6 +3*3

= 30 + 9

= 39 rs

therefore he needs 6 rs more to buy 5 pencils and 3 erasers.
