Let the cost of 1 chair be x & cost of 1 table be y.
ATQ
3x +2y = 2140…………(1)
cost of 1 chair(x) =( y -120)
x = y-120
Put the value of x in eq 1
3x +2y = 2140
3(y-120)+ 2y = 2140
3y - 360 +2y = 2140
3y +2y = 2140 +360
5y = 2500
y = 2500/5= 500
Cost of 1 table = ₹500
Cost of 1 chair(x) = y -120 = 500 - 120 = ₹ 380.
Hence, the Cost of a table is ₹500 and the Cost of a chair is ₹ 380.

Let the Cost of one Chair be x
and cost of one table be y

• Cost of three chair ( 3x ) and 2 table ( 2y ) is 2140

3x + 2y = 2140 ...... ( i )

• Chair cost 120 rs less than a table

x = y - 120 ..... ( ii )

Putting the value of x from ( ii ) in ( i )

3x + 2y = 2140

3 ( y - 120 ) + 2y = 2140

3y - 360 + 2y = 2140

5y = 2140 + 360

5y = 2500

y = 500

Putting value of y in ( ii )

x = y - 120

x = 500 - 120

x = 380

Hence the cost of one table is 500 rs
and one Chair is 380 rs
