the cost of 3shirts and 2trousers is 3100.if the cost of a shirt is 300 less than the trouser ,then find the cost of one shirt and one trouser

let cost of a shirt is x and a trouser is y

y-x = 300
y = 300+x
also,
3x+2y =3100
3x + 2(300+x) = 3100
3x + 600 + 2x = 3100
5x = 3100-600 = 2500
x = 500
and y = 300+ 500 = 800
hence, the cost of
one shirt = 500
and one trouser = 800
