Cost of 5 2/3 cloth is ₹ 65 1/2

Change the mixed fraction into improper fraction
To change in improper fraction, multiply the whole with the denominator, then add the numerator. The sum would be numerator and the denominator would be same.

=> 5 2/3
5 \frac{2}{3}  \\  \\  =  \frac{5 \times 3 + 2}{3}  =  \frac{15 + 2}{3}  =  \frac{17}{3}

and 65 1/2 =

65 \frac{1}{2}  \\  \\  =  >  \frac{65 \times 2 + 1}{2}  =  \frac{130 + 1}{2}  \\  =  \frac{131}{2}

So cost of 17/3 metre cloth is 131/2

=> So cost of 1 metre cloth would be

131/2 ÷ 17/3

=> 131/2 × 3/17

=> 393/34

= 11 19/34

Your answer is
11 \frac{19}{34 }  \\
