2x-y=5 is the equation

sahithsunny110: No . can you explain the steps
sanjibdas000: Cost of the ball pen=
sanjibdas000: Let the cost of fountain pen be x.

let the cost of ball pen is " x " and the cost of fountain pen is " y "

according to question,

x = y - 5

x - y = - 5

x - y + 5 = 0

hence the linear equation with two variables
x - y + 5 = 0

TheLostMonk: x - y + 5 is also right
sanjibdas000: Let the cost of the pen be x.
sanjibdas000: Let the cost of the fountain pen be x.
sanjibdas000: So, according to the question, the cost of the ball pen must be 5 less than x.
TheLostMonk: bro. see question they asked equation with two variables ,but not only only a equation of one variable .so thats why i usded two variables x and y .
sanjibdas000: So, cost of the ball pen= x-5
sanjibdas000: Okay bro, so the linear equation will be= y(ball pen)= x-5
TheLostMonk: bro. why you not yielding , in question i take cost of fountain is x , thats why i choosed cost of ball pen is y so equation is x = y - 5. , both are right , you are also right because you take cost of ball pen = y but i take it = x , both are Right , you cound choose any variable
TheLostMonk: i choosed cost of ball pen is x and you choosed it y
sahithsunny110: okay
