Solution :-

Let varities of rice are a kg , b kg and c kg .

so,

→ Total cost = Rs. 56.5(a + b + c)

A/q,

→ 50a + 55b + 60c = 56.5a + 56.5b + 56.5c

→ 6.5a + 1.5b - 3.5c = 0

→ 65a + 15b - 35c = 0

→ 13a + 3b - 7c = 0

→ 13a + 3b = 7c

here, multiple values of a , b and c are possible which satisfy above condition .

Let c = 5, b = 3 .

then,

→ 13a + 3 * 3 = 7 * 5

→ 13a = 35 - 9

→ 13a = 26

→ a = 2 .

therefore, one possible ratio in which the varieties are mixed is 2 : 3 : 5 .

Method 2) :-

Using alligation method we get ,

→ Qa/Qc = (60 - 56.5)/(56.5 - 50)= 3.5/6.5 = 7/13

→ Qb/Qc = (60 - 56.5)/(56.5 - 55) = 3.5/1.5 = 7/3

then,

Qa : Qb : Qc = 7 : 7 : (13 + 3) = 7 : 7 : 16 .

therefore, another possible ratio in which varities are mixed is 7 : 7 : 16 .

Verification :-

→ 50*7 + 55*7 + 60*16 = 56.5(7+7+16)

→ 350 + 385 + 960 = 56.5 * 30

→1695 = 1695 (Hence, Verified .)
