The cost of a pen is Rs. 19/3 and that of a pencil is Rs. 21/5,which costs more and by how much.

cost of a pen =$19/3      [=$6.333]

cost of pencil = $21/5    [=$4.2]

now we can see that cost of pen is more than that of pencil

therefore

difference in price=(19/3)-( 21/5)

                               ={(19*5)-(21*3)}/15

                              =(95-63)/15

                              =32/15 or2.133(Ans)
