The cost of a table is thrice the cost of a chair. The total cost of four chairs and a table is RS. 2100. Find the cost of a table and the cost of a chair by substitution method .​ solve this with substitution method only​

Let the chair be x.  Let the table be y.

Cost of four chairs = 2100 rupees

Hence,

4x = 2100

x = 2100/ 4 , x = 525

And,

y = 3x

[ Now we will  substitute the value we have of x]

y = 3 * 525

y = 1575
