Let the cost of the watch is x and the cost of the pen is y. Just an assumption.

Given  x=6y

Also x+y=140

substitute x=6y in x+y=140

y=20
x=120

The cost of watch is 120 and cost of pen is 20.

let the cost of watch be x
and cost of pen ne 140-x
a/q
x=6(140-x)
x=840-6x
x+6x=840
7x=840
x=840/7
x=120
•cost of watch(x)=₹120
