Answer:  Amount spent on repairs = 500

Step-by-step explanation: Old CP = 15,000

Repair cost = New CP - Old CP

C + Profit%CP = SP

let CP be x

x + 15%x = 17825

x + 15x/100 = 17285

shifting 15x/100 on the other side

x = 17285 - 15x/100

taking LCM

x = (1728500 - 15x) /100

Taking 100 on the other side

100x= 1728500 - 15x

taking 15x on the other side

115x = 1728500

taking 115 on the other side

x = 1728500/115

x = CP = 15,500

Now,

Repair cost = New CP - old CP

                   = 15,500 - 15,000

Repair Cost = 500
