Answer:

b) $ 231, $ 210

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of A be Rs x and of B be Rs y.

Given that the total cost =441 Rs

⇒x + y = 441  --- (1)

Also, cost of an article A is 10% less than that of article B

⇒x = y + 0.10y

⇒ x = 1.10y  --- (2)

From (1) and (2),  we get

1.10y + y = 441

2.10y = 441

⇒ y = 210

And, x = 1.10y = 1.10*210 = 231

Hence, cost of A is Rs 231 and of B is Rs 210.

Given : the cost of an article A is 10% more then the cost of article B

their total cost is $441

To Find : cost of article A and B

a) $210, $231

b) $231, $210

c) $221, $220

d)$220,$221

Solution:

Assume that cost of Article B  = x

cost of article A is 10% more then the cost of article B

cost of Article  A  = x   + (10/100)x  = 1.1x

Total cost = 441

=> x + 1.1x = 441

=> 2.1x  = 441

=> x = 441/2.1

=> x  = 210

cost of Article B  = 210

cost of Article  A  = 1.1x = 1.1(210)  = 231

cost of article A and B are 231 and 210 respectively.

Correct option is b) $231, $210
