The cost of an article is first decreased by 25%
and then further decreased by 40%. Find the
percentage change in the cost of the article.​

Let the cost of the article be₹100
Decrease=25/100*25=6.25
=₹100-₹6.25
=₹93.75
Decrease =40/100*93.75
=37.6
=₹93.75-₹37.5=₹56.25
Total decrease =₹100-₹56.25=₹43.76
Change percent =43.75/100*100=43.75%
