Given :-

Cost price :- ₹ 1200

GST percentage :- 18%

To Find :-

GST amount and the total amount paid..............

Solution :-

First, we should find the value of the GST in the numerical format by finding 18% of 1200.........

GST :-

{\tt \longrightarrow 18 \bf\% \sf \: \: of \: \: \tt 1200}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{18}{100} \times 100}

{\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{18}{\cancel{100}} \times \cancel{1200} = \boxed{\tt 18 \times 12}}

{\sf \longrightarrow GST \tt = Rs \: \: 216}

Now,

Total amount :-

{\tt \longrightarrow 1200 + 216}

{\tt \longrightarrow Rs \: \: 1416}

\Huge\therefore The GST amount is 216 and the total amount is 1416.

\dashrightarrow Some related formulas :-

Profit :- {\boxed{\tt SP-CP}}

Loss :- {\boxed{\tt CP-SP}}

Profit percentage :- {\boxed{\tt\dfrac{Profit}{CP} \times 100}}

Loss percentage :- {\boxed{\tt\dfrac{Loss}{CP} \times 100}}

More to know..............

  • Profit and loss are obtained for all shopkeepers in their shops. The profit is obtained when the selling price is greater than cost price. The loss is obtained when the cost price is greater than selling price. The profit and loss can also be converted into percentage format by some mathematical formulas.
  • To convert the profit to percentage from, first we should divide the profit and cost price and then multiply by 100.
  • To convert the loss to percentage form, first we should divide the loss and cost price and then multiply by 100.

Answer:

  • GST = R.S 216

  • Total amount paid by the customer = R.S 1416

Explanation

 \huge{ \boxed{ \boxed{ \underline{ \underline{ \pink{ \mathfrak{GiveN}}}}}}}

  • The cost of an item is rupees 1200

  • The customer has to pay additional 18% GST on the cost of this item

 \huge{ \boxed{ \boxed{ \underline{ \underline{ \pink{ \mathfrak{To\:Find}}}}}}}

  • The GST paid by the costumer also find the total amount paid by the costumer

 \huge{ \boxed{ \boxed{ \underline{ \underline{ \star}{ \mathfrak{ \pink{Solution}{ \star}}}}}}}

  • First let's find GST.. Then after finding GST then we will add GST to the cost of Item

  • To, find GST multiply the cost of the article with 18%.

  • We know that % =  \tt  \frac{something}{100}

  • So, we can write 18 % as  \tt \frac{18}{100}

  • So, GST = 18 % of 1200

  •  \tt \frac{18}{100} \times 1200

  •  \tt \frac{18}{1\cancel0\cancel0} \times 12\cancel0\cancel0

  •  \tt 18 \times 12

  •  \boxed{\bf{R.S\: 216}}

  • So, GST = 216

  • So, \therefore Cost of the article after GST is added = Original price + GST

  • 1200 + 216

  •  \longrightarrow R.S 1416
