Answer:cost of ball is 0.05

Step-by-step explanation:let cost of ball be X. cost of the bat is X +1. THEN TOTAL COST IS 1.10.

x+x+1=1.10

2X=0.1

x=0.05

hence,the ball cost is 0.05.bat cost is 1.05

which would be equal to 1.10

*Hey Fellas!*

Let the cost of ball be (x) & cost of bat be (y)

If, x = 0.10 USD

Then, Cost of Bat would be 1 USD more then that of ball. Therefore,

y = x + 1

y = 0.10 + 1

y = 1.20

Since, Total Cost = x + y

Total Cost = 0.10 + 1.20

Total Cost = 1.30 USD (Which is Wrong, Since Total Cost = 1.10 USD is given)

Correct Answer -

x + y = 1.10 *(given) ----------> eqn (i)*

y = x + 1 *(given) ----------> eqn (ii)*

Substituting the value of (y) from eqn (ii) in eqn (i) -

x + x + 1 = 1.10

2x = 0.10

x = 0.5 [ put in eqn (ii) ]

y = x +1

y = 1.05

Total Cost = x + y

Total Cost = 1.05 + 0.5

Total Cost = 1.10 USD

Therefore, The cost of bat is 1.05 USD and the cost of ball is 0.05 USD

I hope you all understand it now
