Answer :

  • The cost fencing the field is ₹ 850.

Given :

  • The cost of cultivating a rectangular field at the rate of ₹ 3 per square metre is ₹ 1728.
  • Breadth if the field = 18 m.

To find :

  • The cost of fencing the field at ₹ 8.5 per metre.

Solution :

To find the cost of fencing the field = ?

Firstly, We need to find the area of the field.

⟹ 3 × Area of rectangular field = 1728.

⟹ Area of rectangular field = 1728/3

✠ Area of rectangular field is 576 m².

Now,

We need to find the length, L = ?

Area of the field = Length × breadth.

⟹ 576 = L × 18

⟹ L = 576/18

✠ Length of the field is 32 m.

Then,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (L + B)

⟹ 2 (32 + 18)

⟹ 2 × 50

✠ Perimeter of rectangle is 100 m.

Now,

Cost of fencing the field = ?

⟹ ₹ 8.5 × perimeter

⟹ ₹ 8.5 × 100

✠ The cost of fencing the field is ₹ 850.
