Solution:

Cost of fencing 1 m = Rs.30

Length fenced for Rs.2400=$\frac{2400}{30}=80$

So, Perimeter of field is 80 m

Length of field is 24 m

Perimeter of field =2(l+b)=2(24+b)

So,2(24+b)=80

24+b=40

b=40-24

b=16

Hence the breadth is 16 m
