7(x + y) = 210

x + y = 30

x + 5x = 30 (From eq.1)

6x = 30

x = 5

Put this in eq.1

y = 5x = 5 × 5 = 25

Cost of one pencil = Rs.5

Cost of one notebook = Rs.25

Now,

Cost of two pencils = 2x = 2 × 5 = Rs.10

Cost of three notebooks = 3y = 3 × 25 = Rs.75
