→ The scrap value of machinery = Cost * [1 - (Rate of depreciation/100)]^time

putting given values we get,

→ The scrap value of machinery = 125000[1 - (10/100)]²⁰

→ The scrap value of machinery = 125000[1 - (1/10)]²⁰

→ The scrap value of machinery = 125000(9/10)²⁰

→ The scrap value of machinery = 125000 * (0.9)²⁰

→ The scrap value of machinery = 125000 * 0.122

→ The scrap value of machinery ≈ Rs.15250 .

To Find : the scrap value of machinery ​

Solution:

cost of machinery Rs 125000

=> P = 125000

  R = - 10 %    as depreciation

  n = 20

  A = P ( 1 + R/100)ⁿ      ( A = P (1  - R/100)ⁿ in case of depreciation if R taken + ve)  

A = 125000 (  1 - 10/100)²⁰

=> A = 125000  ( 9/10)²⁰

=> A = 15,197

the scrap value of machinery    = 15,197
