✰✰|| Given ||✰✰

  • length of field = 15m

  • breadth of field = 20m

  • cost of ploughing = 20 per

|| To Find ||

  • length of field after increase

  • breadth of field after increase

  • area of field after increase

  • cost of ploughing

|| Solution ||

Let, the length of field after increase be x and breadth be y

length of field after increase = x

15m+ 20/100 × 15 m = x

15m + 3m = x

18m = x

length of field after increase is 18m

breadth of field after increase = y

20m + 25/100 × 20 m = y

20m + 5m = y

25m = y

breadth of field after increase is 25m

area of field after increase = 18m × 25m

area of field after increase = 450m²

Area of field after increase is 450m²

cost of ploughing = 450 × 20

cost of ploughing = 9000

Cost of ploughing the field is 9,000

Given

Cost of ploughing a rectangular field shose length is 15 m & breadth is 20 m is Rs.20/m². If length increased by 20% and breadth increased by 25% .

To find :

Cost of ploughing new field

Solution

Previous length = 15 m

Previous breadth = 20 m

Finding new length :

⇒ New length = 15 + (15 × 20%)

= 15 + (15 × 1/5)

= 15 + 3

= 18 m

Finding new breadth :

⇒ New breadth = 20 + (20 × 25%)

= 20 + (20 × 1/4)

= 20 + 5

= 25 m

Finding new area of field :

Area of field = Length × Breadth

= 18 × 25

= 450 m²

Now finding cost of ploughing :

Cost of ploughing = Rate × Area

= 20 × 450

= Rs. 9000

Therefore,

Cost of ploughing the new field = Rs.9000 .
