Leon wants the height of the plywood to be one foot more than its width.
The store charges $10 plus $3 per square foot.
Leon has $50 to spend on plywood
What is the largest height of plywood, to the nearest tenth, that Leon can afford?

13.33 sq foot

excluding the 10 dollars

we are left with a budget of 40 dollars

now

for 3 dollars we get = 1 sq foot

thus, for 1 dollar we get = 1/3 sq foot

therefore, for 40 dollars we get = 40/3 sq foot plywood

which is around about equal to 13.33.. sq foot
