The cost of preparing the walls of the room 12m long at the rate of RS1.35per square meter is RS340.20 and the cost of matting the floor at 85paise per square meter is RS 91.80.find the height of the room?

Given : Length of the room = 12 m
Let the Breadth and the height of the room be 'b' m and 'h' m respectively.
area of the floor = L × B = 12 m × b 
Area of the floor = 12b m²
Cost of matting the floor = 0.85/m²
∴ Total cost of matting the floor = 0.85 × 12b 
⇒ Rs. 0.85 × 12b = Rs. 91.80
10.2b = 91.8
b = 91.8/10.2
Breadth of the room = 9 meter
So, the area of the walls of the room = 2h(L + B)
= 2h(12 + 9)
Area of the walls = 42h m²
Cost of preparing the walls = Rs, 1.35/m²
Total cost of preparing the walls = 1.35 × 42h 
⇒ Rs. 1.35 × 42h = Rs. 340.2
56.7h = 340.2
h = 340.2/56.7
Height of the room = 6 meter
