We can solve this problem easily if we know the molar masses of these commodities. One mole of table salt (NaCl) weights 58.44 grams while a mole of table sugar weighs 342.2965 grams. The cost per gram of table salt and sugar is ₹ 0.002 (i.e. 2/1000) and ₹ 0.006 (i.e 6/1000). Therefore, the cost per mole of each of these would be 58.44*0.006 = ₹ 0.117 (~ 12 paise) per mole of NaCl and 342.2965*0.006 = ₹ 2.053 per mole of sugar.
