Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

No. of pencils be x.

No.of rubbers be y.

Cost of 2 pencils and 3 rubbers is ₹9.

So, 2x + 3y = 9--------(1)

Cost of 2 pencils and 6 rubbers is ₹12.

So, 2x + 6y = 12------(2)

By adding (1) and (2):

2x + 3y = 9

2x + 6y = 12

------------------

0x + (-3y) = -3.

y = -3/-3

y = 1.

Substitute y = 1 in equation (1):

2x + 3y = 9

2x + 3(1) = 9

2x = 9-3

2x = 6

x=6/2 = 3

x = 3.

No. of pencils = 3

No. Of rubbers = 1

Cost of one pencil = ₹2/-

Cost of one rubber = ₹3/-
