So let's us take chair as x they table will be x + 40
5x+80=705
5x=705-80
5x=625
X=625/5
X=125
Chairs cost 125£
And table 125+40=165£

Answer:

The cost of table is $165 and cost of chair is $125

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost of chair be x

Since we are given that the table costs $40 more than the chair

So, cost of table = x+40

Cost of 2 tables = 2(x+40)

Cost of 3 chairs = 3x

Since we are given that The cost of two tables and three chairs is $705

So, 3x+2(x+40) = 705

So, 3x+2x+80=705

5x=625

x=125

Thus the cost of chair is $125

Cost of table = x+40=125+40=$165

Hence the cost of table is $165 and cost of chair is $125
