cost of 4 pencil+6eraser=28

so,to find the cost of 5pencil and 4 eraser, we should find the cost of one pecil and one eraser.

let the cost of one pencil be x and cost of one eraser be y.

1st case:

x+3y=10(eq1)

2nd case:

4x+6y=28(eq2)

so by elimination method,

4x+12y=40( multplying eq 1 with 4)

4x+6y =28

6y=12

ie,y=2.

so,cost of eraser,y=2.

putting value of y in eq 2 we get,

x+3*2=10

x+6=10

x=10-6

=4.

cost of one pencil=4.

therefore cost of 5 pencil +4eraser

=5*4+4*2

=20+8

=28.
