Hi ,
Let cost price a candle = Rs x
Selling price = Rs y
12x = 15y
y = 12x/15 = 4x/5
Now ,
c.p = Rs x
S.p = Rs 4x/5
s.p < c.p
Loss = c.p - s.p
Loss = x - 4x/5 = x/5
Loss percentage = ( loss × 100 )/c.p
=[ ( x/5) × 100 ]/x
= 100/5
= 20 %
Loss = 20%
I hope this helps you.
