Let the Cost Price of 1 item = Re. 1

Cost Price of 16 items = 16

Selling Price of 16 items = 12

Loss = 16 - 12 = Rs 4

Loss % = (4/16)* 100 = 25%

CP of 12 fans=SP of 16 fans

let CP of 1 fan be x

then, CP of 12 fans=12*x=12x

CP of 12 fans=12x=SP of 16 fans

SP of 1 fan=12x/16=3x/4

here the SP is greater than CP(i.e., SP>CP)

so there is a profit

profit=SP-CP

profit=(3x/4)-x=(3x/4)-x/1

     here, LCM=4

so,3x-4x/4= -x/4

so profit= -x/4

profit %=(profit/CP)*100

profit%= [(-x/4)/x]*100

x, x will be get cancel

-1/4*100=-100/4= -25%

therefore, profit percent/gain percent is 25%

Hope it will help you......!
