Let the cost of chair be x

given : the desk costs 12%more than chair

=> cost of desk =( 12x /100 ) + x

X + (12X / 100 ) + X = ₹371

2X + 12X/100 = ₹371

(200X + 12X)÷100 = ₹371

212X = 371×100

X = 37100 ÷ 212

X = 175

cost of chair(x)=₹175

cost of desk ( x + 12 % of x )

=175+12%of 175

= 175 + 21

= ₹196
