The costs of two pair of shoes are in the ratio 3:5. if the cost of each pair of shoes increases by ₹200, then the ratio becomes 13:20. What is the initial cost of each nair of shoes?​

Cost of 1st pair of shoes = 3x

Cost of 2nd pair of shoes =5x

new cost of 1st pair= 3x+200

new cost of 2nd pair=5x+200

3x+200/5x+200=13/20

20(3x+300)=13(5x+200)

60x+6000=65x+2600

60x-65x=2600-6000

-5x=-3400

x=680

Cost of 1st pair = 3x = 2040

Cost of 2nd pair = 5x= 3400
