Dear Mom and Dad,

I owe you an infinity of the two simple words strung together that say, “Thank you." And, I really owe them to you this holiday season. You see, I used to take for granted all that you provided for our family, especially during this time of year. But, being away from home has made me realize what I appreciate most about you two. So, here goes a few of those thank-yous.

Dress like royalty this holiday season

Thank you for making family a priority. Yeah, I get annoyed when you tell me to put my phone down as we're having dinner together around the fireplace, but I couldn’t be more thankful for you telling me to do so. You see, as much as the conversations I’m having with my friends from school are entertaining, the conversations I engage in with you mean so much more. So, thank you for making me put my family first, and for getting me to communicate face to face with the people who will always be there for me.
