The Court of Directors of the East India Company in London sent an educational dispatch issued by Chartes Wood in 1854. This was known as "Woods dispatch which was sent to the Governor General of India Its main emphasis was also on European learning and opposing Oriental Learning It emphasised on the learning of economics as it would enable Indians to understand the importance of expansion of trade and commerce.
