Before the partition of India there were no specific states. But after the partition of the country the new govt. decided to redefine the boundaries of the state and people those who spoke the same language should be in the same state. Though some leaders were little anxious about this decision. But, it helped in strengthing our federalism as the administration of the state could be carried out in the state language.
