If i is polarizing angle and c is critical angle for a medium, taking other medium as air for which refractive index=1, then the two are related via expression

tani=1/ sinc ...........(1)

⇒i=tan−1 (1/sinc)

Here c= sin-1(3/5)

now putting value in the relation

we get

i =tan-1(1/sin(sin-1(3/5)))

i =tan-1(5/3)

so the polarising angle is tan-1(5/3)
