So if u keenly observe that having heterozygous red as one parent crossing with homozygous dominant trait , produce dwarf individual( in this case ,say i have taken as height).

so , the required individual( to be found whether it is homozygous or heterozygous,)we use test cross.....similar way if the taken individual is homo dominant ,the offsprings produced never be dwarf................HOPE U understand
