The cross section of a canals is in the form of a trapezium.if the top of canal is 15 m wide , the bottom is 8 m and area of cross section is 138 cm square, find its depth.

Area of trapezium=1/2(a+b)×h
Where A and B are parallel sides and H is the altitude or distance between A and B.
In a canal , the floor of canal and the top water surface are parallel . Height of trapezium is the depth of canal .
138 m =1/2(15+8)×height
Height=276/23=12 m
