BC is the bottom of canal = 8m

We have to find the depth of the canal.

CE is the depth of canal.

Given,

Area if the canal = 138m^2

=> 1/2(a + b) × h = 138

=> 1/2(15+8)×h = 138

=> 1/2 × 23 × h = 138

=> h = 138 × 2 / 23

=> h = 6 × 2

=> h = 12m

Therefore,
