Answer:

The magnetization is : 2 x 10⁵ A/m

Explanation:

It is given to us that :

Total magnetic moment Mnet = 2.4 Am²

Cross sectional area  = 1.2 cm² = 1.2 x 10⁻⁴ m

Length, l = 10 cm = 10 x 10⁻² m

We know that, Magnetization M =\frac{Mnet}{V}

where Mnet = 1.4Am²

and V = length x area of cross section of the magnet

or, V = 10 x 10⁻² x  1.2 x 10⁻⁴ = 1.2 x 10⁻⁵ m²

or M = \frac{1.4}{1.2 x 10^-5} = 200000 A/m = 2 x 10⁵ A/m

Magnetization :

  • It is also known as magnetic polarization,
  • it is also a  vector quantity.
  • Magnetization also gives the measure of the density of the induced dipole moment for a particular material.
