The cube of difference of a number and 4 is x^{3} - 12x^{2}  + 48x - 64.

Given,

The number that is to be subtracted= 4

To Find,

The cube of the difference of a number and 4.

Solution,

Let us take the number as 'x'.

Now, the difference between both the numbers are = (x -4)

Cube of this difference = (x-4)^{3}

Applying the formula

(a - b)^{3} = a^{3} - 3a^{2} b + 3ab^{2}  - b^{3}

We get  (x - 4)^{3} \\\\ = x^{3} + 3x^{2} .(-4) + 3x(4)^{2}  + (-4)^{3}

                         = x^{3} - 12x^{2}  + 48x - 64

Hence, the answer is x^{3} - 12x^{2} + 48x - 64
