Here this is a question from electricity, where we have given current flowing through a heating element and potential difference across it's terminals. We are asked to find the value of power rating of that element. To find the power, we can simply apply formula to get the required answer.

So let's do it!!

_______________________________

Given :-

• Current, I=8A

• Potential difference ,V=220v

_______________________________

To find :-

• Power rating

_______________________________

Formula used :-

• P=VI

_______________________________

Solution :-

Applying formula for power::

» P=VI

Now substituting given values::

» P=(220v)(8A)

By solving, it we get::

» P=1760Volt.Ampere

» P=1760 watt

Converting in standard form::

» P=1760/1000 Kilowatt

Final answer::

» P=1.76 kilowatt

Please remember that volt.ampere should be changed into Watt which is the S.I. unit of power and further it needs to be converted into commertial unit..
